without Blank Days Copyright © 1930 by James A. Colligan, S.J. In 400 years beginning with 1928 we must have 146,097 days. In that period there are 97 leap years of 366 days, and 303 years of 365 days. I propose now the following method of obtaining the 146,097 days. Beginning with 1928 every ordinary year will consist of thirteen months of 28 days or 364 days. The new month will be called Columbus and it will come between November and December. The first day of every week, month and year will be Sunday. Beginning with 1930 every year having its last number or its last two numbers divisible by 6 will have an extra month of seven days. Also every year ending with the number 99, and every centennial year not divisible by 400 will have this extra month. The extra month will be called Pax and its first day will be Sunday. It will follow the month of Columbus. We will have therefore 329 years of 364 days and 71 years of 364 days with the extra month of seven days. These give us 146,097 days in the 400 years beginning with 1928.
