The XP w/ VirtualBox virtual environment was created for ICTN 4200/1 Intrusion Detection Technologies. This demo video shows how to reserve the VCL virtual environment, how to start the VirtualBox virtual machines and how to log in to them using SSH Secure Shell Client.

Applying a filter in Wireshark to display SYN/ACK packets (click here to view the flash video)

There are different ways of finding the display filter for packets with certain characteristics. For example, if the purpose is to display packets with SYN/ACK flags set, we can find one packet with SYN/ACK flags set in Wireshark, expand its TCP header, right click the line Flags: 0x12 (SYN, ACK), click Apply as Filter and click Selected.
