My name is Ryan Kirk. I am a Teaching Assistant Professor at East Carolina University.

My main interests lie in geometry and topology. More specifically, I study geometric structures and representation varieties of surface and 3-manifold groups.

I graduated with my PhD in mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2019. My PhD advisor was Christian Zickert. My thesis was titled "Positive tuples of flags, piecewise circular wavefronts, and the 3-dimensional Einstein universe."

I received my MA in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2016.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012.
